Choose one person to approve
The team can debate the design, but one person should give the supplier the final instruction. Keep a dated copy of the approved proof. Mark older artwork as superseded.
Use the supplier’s size chart
Sizes are not consistent across manufacturers. Measure a jersey that fits over the player’s equipment and compare it with the exact chart for the product being ordered. Confirm goalie cuts separately.
Check every name and number
Ask each player to approve their spelling, capitalization, number and size in writing. Resolve duplicate numbers before sending the roster. Keep names exactly as they should appear on the jersey.
Make the artwork usable
Send the original vector crest where available. Confirm colours, number legibility, logo placements and sponsor permissions. Ask the supplier to confirm that the supplied artwork is suitable for the chosen production method.
Read the quote as carefully as the proof
Confirm quantities, socks, extra sizes, setup costs, shipping, taxes, delivery timing and the correction policy. Approve production only when the full order and final artwork match what the team agreed.
